LadyFest 2021

Ladyfest 2021 was a great success. The event raises money for Connect to End Violence and supports women who have been subjected to domestic violence. Unfortunately due to the Pandemic the numbers of domestic violence cases has risen on the island, and funds are needed more than ever.

Founded in 2017 by Rose Guerin and Kelly Feirtag the event was replete with talented musicians and incredible dancers.

After missing a year due to the Pandemic all were happy to be out in person and enjoying live music on two stages, one on Circuit Ave outside The Ritz and a second at the Post Office Square. Some of the incredible talent included Kate Taylor, Jemima James, Auntie Em, and the Black Eyed Susans.

Also performing were the brilliant Siren Mayhew McMahon and her husband Sean McMahon. The Island Hip Hop dancers displayed a spectacular well-choreographed show in addition to many other performers. A group of young girls danced excitedly in front of the stage as they delighted in listening to Emily Hunsacker (Auntie Em) and the incredibly talented band.

Rose Guerin’s performance was stellar and drew an excited crowd as she invited many local musicians on stage to perform with her band. For those who didn’t want this inspiring night to end they were lucky enough to continue on and dance in delight at Dos Mas where the talented McMahon Brothers rocked on until closing time.

The evening was a great success and offered a great opportunity for many to be outdoors enjoying the fresh air and entertainment.
