After a fantastically busy summer season on Martha’s Vineyard, things are winding down. While some tourists are saying farewell as the cooler weather rolls in, we want to remind visitors and year-round residents that many fabulous Martha’s Vineyard restaurants remain open through the New Year, and some remain open year-round!

One incredible restaurant serving up food using only the freshest ingredients and worth visiting is the historical Pawnee House. If you are new to the area, or just have not yet checked it out- The Pawnee House is located in Oak Bluffs. For those of you who are drawn to places with wonderful menus, but who also care about the ambiance and history of a restaurant...The Pawnee House is for you!  It actually opened its doors in 1872 and was originally a hotel.

The Pawnee House is owned by husband and wife, Alex and Debbie. This power couple has more than a decade of experience in the food industry, and they are incredibly passionate about Martha’s Vineyard and their restaurant.  It is treasured by vacationers and year-round residents. The restaurant has an intriguing tale, and to learn more about its story, visit The Pawnee House.

In terms of the menu, they have a wide array of starters. Such as the Warm Gruyere & Asparagus Tart, which is drizzled with white truffle oil.  We also recommend the Curried Sweet Potato Flatbread.  Some standout main entrees are the Salmon Wellington which is a salmon filet served with sautéed spinach and dill sauce in a tasty puff pastry. It is served with dill fingerling potatoes and sesame asparagus. If you are not a seafood or meat eater, they have a selection of vegetarian options. Try the Vegan Bea's Farmhouse Salad! It is absolutely devine with chickpeas, island grown radishes, red onion, tomatoes, cucumber and pea shoots. Another fantastic aspect of this eatery is that they have plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. Additionally, they have a lovely weekend brunch menu.  See everything Pawnee House’s menu has to offer.

They are open Wednesday through Saturday (5-10) with a Sunday brunch (9:30-1).
