When you visit, you’ll know exactly why it’s a big favorite of the locals. Just on the outskirts of Oak Bluffs, the VFW is located on Towanicut Avenue, with plenty of parking. Deon’s menu offers authentic Caribbean cuisine—from conch fritters with tomatillo aioli and fried plantains to perfectly spiced jerk chicken and bbq ribs.

Born in Jamaica, Deon Thomas attended the Culinary Institute of America before moving to Martha’s Vineyard.  After school he owned and operated four restaurants in Anguilla one of which was the famous Overlook and people traveled the world over to dine there. He arrived on the Vineyard, and in 2001 opened the Cornerway Restaurant in Chilmark followed by Deon’s in West Tisbury and later on Circuit Ave. in Oak Bluffs. Deon has also been the personal chef for Jay-Z inn NYC.

Menu items and specials can be found on the board outside, and include specialities like “Buttermilk Pork Chop.” “Honey BBQ Turkey Wings.” “Prime Rib,” “Sesame Grilled Shrimp,” “Fried Calamari,” “Jerk Chicken,” “Lobster Mac,” and so much more…
