4th July Pizza, Take Out, Backyard BBQ ideas

The Island is hustling and bustle, the weather is beautiful and summer is in full swing here on Martha’s Vineyard. After a two year hiatus (Thanks, Covid…), the action is back and we anticipate it to be better (and busier!) then ever.

Giordano’s, Oak Bluffs.

For most, the Fourth is a day to play––backyard BBQs, beach days, or a night out on the town! This week, we have a lineup of things to do and food to eat!

The highly anticipated Edgartown Parade and fireworks return. Parade starts at 5 pm, and the Fireworks start as soon as it's dark enough. What better way to watch than to grab a pizza or takeout from your favorite spot? The Quarterdeck downtown is serving some of our favorite fried food; it’s easy and accessible––just make sure to order early enough!

The Square Rigger is a can’t miss! With their to-go menu and walk-up window, ordering great food is easy. You can even call ahead! Their dining room menu is available after 5pm.

For Pizza, hit Giordano’s! An Island can’t-miss classic. Whether you’re heading into Edgartown, escaping the crowds in Oak Bluffs, taking it to a friend or family’s backyard, Gio’s is a game changer when it comes to pies. In addition to pizza, they also have the clam bar, serving fried food, seafood and more. There might even be a salad or two on the menu! Porto Pizza in Vineyard Haven is also another favorite.

Hitting the beach or a barbecue? Edgartown Meat & Fish has everything you need. From house marinated meats and fresh seafood to sandwiches, sushi, sides and more. They also have a great selection of beer and wine. If you like steak, be sure to pick up some teriyaki tips––great for the grill!

Spice up your Fourth of July soiree at The Larder, Vineyard Haven’s newest hot spot. The Swimming Pig features housemate craft sausages, locally smoked meat, spreads, cheeses, fresh produce, prepared foods and more. Newly open for business, it’s another can’t miss for this Fourth!

For more 4th July Pizza locations and backyard BBQ suggestions, don't forget other Island favorites in. Oak Bluffs; Offshore Ale, Pizza di Napoli at the Loft, and in Vineyard Haven; Rocco's, Porto Pizza, Wolf's Den, and Bob's Pizza, Island Fresh Pizza and Subs, and of course Up-Island; Orange Peel Bakery in Aquinnah, and Vineyard Take Out in West Tisbury.

With so many amazing local pizza and takeout options, you can pick your favorite from any town, and bring it to the beach to watch the fireworks.
